While most of us get frustrated by email in our junk box, and even in our inbox, that we did not ask for. People trying to sell us something. But while we might be frustrated there probably is not one of us that is thankful for receiving an unsolicited email at one point or another. When we react poorly, with frustration, at these emails it is usually because the email itself is poorly prepared, usually following a template abandoned years ago.
Understanding that emails are effective only if the recipient actually receives them and reads the material, Up Arrow has designed and email/newsletter program that can be used on several levels. We are able to use both lists of registered users and lists of prospective users to market too in this matter. New users are sent a series of emails that are designed to create interest in a series of steps, directing the reader to the website for more information. Once registered on the website the prospect is sent a regular email with news about new products and services and even industry news, to give the customer the feeling of being in the loop.
Junk files are often sorted by scanning the address, subject line and content. If the address is a business and not in the recipients address book or the subject line uses certain keywords, it will be relegated to the junk file. The email services also scan the document for heavy uses of bold, italics and colors, all things that indicate a sales presentation. Email and newsletter services avoid all of these potential problems by recognizing them and avoiding using red flags. Email campaigns, especially when accompanied by a newsletter are extremely effective, especially when used in conjunction with social networking and creative, well written and structured content.
